Fallen Soldiers Ministries Partnering with Service Dogs of Florida
After an extensive search and evaluation of potential trainers, Fallen Soldiers Ministries has chosen Ken Lyons of Service Dogs of Florida to train our next Service Dog.
Ken is committed to not only his own efforts - training the best possible companion animals that will provide substantial assistance to a Wounded Veteran - but also to the industry as a whole. In addition to his own high standards, he is also attempting to organize a national organization to ensure that all Service Dogs are truly trained to the levels required to provide assistance to disable individuals. Currently there is not a governing body for service dog training, so Ken has begun to develop a draft of new national standards on his own, encompassing over nine hundred pages of qualifications and requirements - (view more information by clicking here.)
Fallen Soldiers Ministries raises funds continuously in the hopes of providing more Service Dogs for Wounded Veterans - if you would like to help please consider a donation today! As soon as funds are raised for the next Service Dog we will immediately begin the process again - the list of Veterans waiting for a Service Dog is extremely long and constantly growing. Currently, only private organizations like Fallen Soldiers Ministries provide service dogs - the Veteran's Administration has ruled that they are not part of the medical program to help our Veterans.
